Amazing reflection in this Anthony. The colours are very reflective of winter to me a bit sad

@jamesy: The nights are drawing in here.winter is certainly on it´s way !!

Richard_Irwin from Belper, United Kingdom

Oh dear, it does look a little gloomy out there....time to wrap up well I thinks.

11 Oct 2008 8:00am

@Richard_Irwin: Pass me a mug of hot choclate(don´t forget the shot of Rum in it though !!)

Alun Lambert from cheshire, United Kingdom

Maramy from Aberdeenshire, United Kingdom

fantastic reflections and taken from a fine angle.

11 Oct 2008 8:29am

@Maramy: Many thanks !!

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Interesting shot Anthony. What is causing that distinct change on the surface of the water that is distrupting that mirror like reflection? Is it current?

11 Oct 2008 9:49am

@grouser: No,thats ice !! In a good winter this lake freezes right over and you can go skating on it.If it freezes thick enough they even set up stalls on the ice selling hot drink and food !!

Margie from Auckland, New Zealand

Definitely a chilly feel in this shot. The line on the water is kind of intriguing...current? Snow? Ice?

11 Oct 2008 10:46am

@Margie: Ice Ice Baby !!

Veronelle from Lens, France

superb bridge reflexion

11 Oct 2008 1:04pm

@Veronelle: Nice of you to say !!

Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United States

Haunting, Anthony. I'm guessing from your title that we are looking at ice out in mid-stream. Brrr. And here I sit, still not yet ready to let go of the well-past summer that seems so few days ago....

11 Oct 2008 3:15pm

@Stephen Phillips: I guess Winter doesn´t hit you with such a bump in San Fransisco Phillip(i´m guessing) Over here it´s already dark at 6 oclock,the temperature drops down to close to 2/3degrees c at night already and the shops are full of warm clothes.Roll on spring !!

vahid from tehran, Iran

@vahid: Thank you my friend!!

Marion from Nanaimo, BC, Canada

Did you and Alun get together and decide to post a picture of a bridge over water today? I know just a coincidence. Love the reflections Anthony. It is that grey colorless time of the year. Cold and yet beautiful too. Great capture.

11 Oct 2008 5:32pm

@Marion: No,that wasn´t pre-planned at all !! You´ve hit the nail on the head with your description of this shot.Many thanks.

JJ from Jersey City, United States

it sure looks cold with the ice on the water, what an interesting bridge with the arches

Ted from South Wales, United Kingdom

T-shirts in the garden today but you are determined to drag us towards winter!

Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United States

Nice composition! The little boardwalk leading into the reflective water is a nice counterpoint to the more durable if gloomy bridge w/arches. Good one!

Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United States

And oh how I wish we got some winter over here... it has been 7 years since I have a winter... I miss the cold of winter...

12 Oct 2008 2:05am

@Fliss: SWAP !! any takers.........

Andrew Gould from Sydney, Australia

What a reflection you've got here, Anthony. It's really unique with the cut off caused by what must be a current in the river. As far as the seasons are concerned, it's the opposite here in the south, of course. Daylight saving started last weekend and it's spring. Make the most of your darker months, though. They have to come...

12 Oct 2008 2:31am

@Andrew Gould: You just look after the summer for us until May/June time next year and then we´ll have it back please !!

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand

Look at that reflection....thats amazing!!! The way the water is so calm at one place is quuite strange...brilliant capture and well seen:-)

12 Oct 2008 4:14am

@Linerberry: I´m glad you really like the shot,cheers liners !!

Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, France
