The gate to the West

@Sarito: You´re talking about Admiralty arch at the top of the mall,similar idea I guess.On the west side of the gate there is a long straight road leading down to the "Victory column"

@MrsAmber: Very well spotted my dear !! Yep same shot all I did was straighten up the converging verticals that were very obvious in this picture,the lamp was bending right into frame !!

@grouser: Oh yes !! I visited "East Berlin" just after the wall was opened(with border control,visa,money exchange and lots of border guards) The wall still stood and was still patroled by East German border guards.The pictures I took then of the Brandenburg gate(with wall in the background were far more interesting) are all on paper(goodold days of film back then).I will have to scan them in and post them here to show what a difference 20 odd years can make !!

@Fliss: Book yourself on a trip to Europe then Fliss.Your an Aussie,your ancestors probably came over from the UK on a convict ship anyway,you´ll feel right at home :-) (sorry,couldn´t resist)

@Ted: I really would recommend it,all that history,great beer,excellent food and a huge Zoo in the middle of the city.You can´t go wrong !!
As for more Berlin shots,I´ve posted so many on AM3 over the months.This is just about the last in the bag.I will have a dig about though and see what I can find for a later date !! (Scroll back through my portfolio,I´m sure you´ll find something you like)
