Little Bielefeld

This is my first(crude attempt) at Tilt-shift "effect" photography.The Building is the Dr Oetker factory(famous for oven ready Pizzas and the like).
This shot was taken from a high vantage point and then worked on to make it look like a "model".This effect can be done a lot more professionally than my attempt just using photoshop(but I´m happy with it)

Hectic life just carries on.Swine flu is running rife in Germany at the moment (have you got it where you are ?) and over a third of everybody at work are sick at the moment so the few left fit,well and fighting are having to push out the over time to make up for the sick and missing !!
I´ll be in to comment when I can.

@Alun: Just google "tilt shift" and you´ll get a few different ways of doing it,depends on what photo programm your using !!

I really like the effect Anthony. It does look like a model. Plus I have never heard of Tilt-Shift before. Amazing what we can do with our photos.

Superb work Anthony!!! Great for a first attempt. I only heard about tiltshift the other day on here when one of our fellow am3er pjw miller told me of a web site http://tiltshiftmaker.com/ and how its done....quite amazing:-) Just thought you might like a look:-)

@Linerberry: I´ve seen it done a few times and with the right programm it can be done a lot better than my attempt(but then its the fiddling about that´s half the fun)

I've seen it done, I've read about it..but never attempted it...this is really good. I still don't really understand why the results look like toy town..but it's a great effect to achieve ..so well done.! (By the way,my middle son adores Dr Oetaker's Pizzas more than any other pizzas!)

@Ted: Come on Ted,"Eurovision"... Be lucky you live in Wales and not Germany.Over here people still care about winning Eurovision and are dissapointed when it all goes wrong for Germany.Talk about living in the past."Germany 12 points" is still very much a Golden dream in the good old BRD !!??

@jeff (aka dogilicious): I suppose it depends on which way you look at it I suppose.
I just used two layers of the same shot the bottom one in focus and the top one out of focus and then rubbed out the out of focus area in the middle(the factory) away leaving the very narrow depth of field effect.You can use the gradient tool of photoshop but need some sort of add on mask to get it to work.That sounded like too much hard work so I found a simpler way of doing it.
