Martello tower

One of two Gun towers guarding Pembroke dock,my home town.

Hectic life just carries on.Swine flu is running rife in Germany at the moment (have you got it where you are ?) and over a third of everybody at work are sick at the moment so the few left fit,well and fighting are having to push out the over time to make up for the sick and missing !!
I´ll be in to comment when I can.

@jamesy: No,when the tide is out you can walk right up to it.There are also two forts built on small islands nearby !!

@MaryB: Pembroke dock has two Martello towers that were built between 1849 and 1857.Both were garrisoned by Sergeants of Artillery and their families.
Both were obsolete for military purposes by the end of the 19th century, although in WWII, two Lewis light anti-aircraft machine guns were positioned on top of the tower.
