jamesy from christchurch, New Zealandgreat shot I am trying to work out how to do this on photoshop at the moment 25 Nov 2008 6:08am @jamesy: No photo shop for me just good old "download for free" Picassa !! Alun Lambert from cheshire, United KingdomA large mr wippy please, and a hot dog cus there there favourites :))) good shot 25 Nov 2008 6:52am @Alun Lambert: Oh Erh Matron a LARGE Mr Whippy and Jumbo hot dog, very Carry on if you ask me. Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandAhhh brilliant selective colouring Anthony!!! What a great shot! It typifies England I think:-) Big Ben (the bell not the tower of course) and a 99 ice cream....lovely! Great stuff! 25 Nov 2008 7:46am @Linerberry: Thanks liners for explaining the big ben thing, saves me a lot of typing !! I hope all the other aminers know what a 99 is. grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdomi second Linerberry's comment. 25 Nov 2008 10:50am @grouser: I think they were waiting for a refill of soft Ice-cream mix being brought up from a cafe down by the London eye.The weather was roasting that day and they couldn´t keep up with the demand for cold snacks !! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomThis is fantastic Anthony, love the way you've used selective colour, it works brilliantly! 25 Nov 2008 11:19am @MaryB: Very kind of you to say Mary,I do try !! @Observing: 28 mm wide angle was used !! I´ll have to have a word with Boris !! Maybe they can chop a few feet off so that it fits in the frame next time :-) Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesGrab me a icecream... funny... such an historic building and you have a Icecream truck right there... ahhh progression.. love it though 25 Nov 2008 1:10pm @Fliss: It was a roasting hot day in the city that day.My German and Polish workmates who were with me on that trip were expecting cold, damp and fog !! even in June......(Stereotype Victorian London) There is food available every couple of hundred metres in central London(Ice-cream,hot dogs etc) and with so many American tourists visiting they get enough custom(they don´t mind paying the vastly inflated prices !!) Kelela from Upland, United StatesThis makes me smile. Love the story, love the color tones, love the composition. Enjoyable! 25 Nov 2008 3:42pm @Kelela: Thank you dear Kelela,a realy nice comment. @Rags: Cheers !! Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United KingdomBet it wasn't as nice as Monti's,...Nice shot though. 25 Nov 2008 4:45pm @Jeff: I don´t think I ever had a 99 in Monti´s.I remember the realy nice chips and the sound of the steam being pumped through the milky coffee !! Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceI like your choice of composition : the van, and behind (only behind), the Parliament house. 25 Nov 2008 5:01pm @Calusarus: Thanks for the comment. @Alphons: Cheers @Eleftheria!: Thank you my dear !! jamesy from christchurch, New ZealandHave you used selective colour on this photo. I have Picassa but don't know how or where to do this. As a Kiwi I have no idea what a 99 is please explain. also where to do this in Picassa 25 Nov 2008 7:06pm @jamesy: OK Debbie here goes,Open Picassa, then open a photo.click on EFFECTS then on FOCAL B+W its on the last row of the effects buttons. You can then select a position and size of a spot of colour on your shot. It´s not always precise and you need to fiddle around but for a bit of free software it´s not bad.As for a 99 that´s a scoop of Ice cream on a cornet(waffle) with a bar of "Cadbury Flake" chocolate stuck in it. Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesNot just the double yellow - I don't see any ™ or ® near Mickey or Minnie. I wouldn't the Disney lawyers looking for me, thank you. Talk about living dangerously. 26 Nov 2008 1:13am @Stephen Phillips: I don´t think the firms owning these Ice cream vans are realy bothered about Mr disney hunting them down.Things are a bit slacker in the UK I reckon than with you in the states.Maybe they are official though, but I don´t think so !! |
